the monster mash.

Lately I have had Halloween on the brain. I know that it is like a month away and also I have zero plans, but either way it's on the brain. I have been thinking about possible costume ideas and looking online at Halloween Express (even though I prefer to make mine). I got to thinking about all the things I think will be popular this year, all the costumes I am sick of seeing, and all the ones that I think would be fun. So just for kicks here are some of my costume likes, dislikes, ideas, etc. etc.

ok. Let's start with a small list of the costumes that I feel are extremely outplayed and I am frankly just tired of seeing them.
*Playboy bunny and Hugh Hefner. It's just annoying. Sorry.
*School girl. REAL ORIGINAL!
*Marilyn Monroe. I mean I get it, I really do...just *yawn*
*Referees. So 2005.
*Lady Gaga. I understand doing that a couple years ago or last year. But everyone has done it a million times.
*Policeman, Policewoman, CSI person, etc. Unless you are going to be a hired stripper that night, then NO.

Now. Here are a couple pictures of the most ridiculous costumes I have seen so far. I really would punch one of my friends if they showed up in one. They make me laugh.
So as if the thong isn't bad enough..this outfit you could make is 50 bucks!
Some girl put this on her blog. Lol. Idk but I can't help but laugh.
I somewhat dig this. But ridiculous nonetheless. I sure as heck know that I would not be able to go in public in that.
And...last but not least...this thing. Can you believe this? Douchebag city! Yes, I did laugh, but I didn't want to!
So. Ideas I like!
*Pattie Mayonnaise and Quailman..or could just do Doug. I feel like I could do a Patti Mayonnaise...
*Nicki Minaj..If I was black I would so try it. I tried painting myself black once...it was a failure.
*Olive Oyl and Popeye. I saw a REALLY cute Olive Oyl costume that you could make yourself. Wouldn't let me save the picture though...bummer.
*Mormons. I know it's be done before but it never gets old to me for someone to wear the bike helmet, tie, white shirt, etc. Not making fun of them, just like the costume!
I will be the first to admit this is a little creepy. but how can you not love lamb chop and sherry!? plus its original!

I don't care if this has been outdone or not. But something about this being the whole family is wicked awesome.

anyways. I was bored. Found a lot of cool ones on Pinterest and Flickr of homemade ones. But a lot of them wouldn't let me save. I also remember in college a group of people doing the old show Legends of the Hidden Temple and spray painting bike helmets gold and doing the colored shirts with the different teams like Barracudas and Monkeys and crap. It was really cool. So be creative! I expect a lot of people to still be Alice and Wonderland, Pirates, Captain America, Thor, etc. Which is fine. But please don't spend 60 dollars on a skanky version of the mad hatter. Make something! or buy cheap..whichever.
And last but not least friends, drag your friends or significant other into you costumes. Makes it more fun! Like these girls!

Rock, paper, scissors baby!

so long sweet summer.

Man am I glad that the 100 degree days are gone? Which I am pretty sure everyone is! What a crap summer! The summer was fun don't get me wrong..but it was so miserably hot! Definitely not sad to see it go.

Just to throw this out there: I am applying for my masters in a couple weeks. Everyone wish me luck! I would be starting classes in January. Definitely something that makes me nervous because for those of you who know me well, school was never my forte. But I feel like I have matured so much since college that I would take it really seriously. (Especially since some of it will be out of my pocketbook!) Which the rest would be out of my jobs pocketbook. YAY!
In the end if all goes well and I get in and finish I will have a masters in Aerospace Administration and Logistics. Makes me sound smarter than I really am right? Good. I hoped for that.

The other day I put my status as "Sometimes being in your 20's is hard." Which followed by numerous people asking me what I meant by that or if something was wrong. But really, nothing was wrong. Mostly just had a lot on my mind with my job and potential masters that I just started thinking about it all. So much happens in your 20's. I feel like for most people the bulk of BIG life changes and steps happens in your 20's. Let's see, in just my 5 years into my 20's I have been in college and graduated, lived with my best friends for numerous years, met Kory, got engaged, got married, bought a house, got a job that's starting a career, got my first dog, etc. etc! And TONS of people my age already have kids. So look at all those milestones all in a couple years? And what I think can be hard about all of it is that most of the 20's are spent being immature. Then I just woke up one day and was like "crap. i have a mortgage and things i have to pay for, and this doesn't just affect me anymore it affects Kory too!" I feel like so many responsibilities and things in life and trying to establish yourself and career and wants and needs comes out of nowhere. And sometimes you stand around being this adult that doesn't yet quite feel like an adult. Anyways-nothing crazy. I'm not unhappy or anything! Just thinking about how crazy life is.

Fair is starting up and I am super happy. White trash America united for 11 days of crappy rides, toothless carnies, and amazing heart attack filled fried food. CANNOT WAIT! Which coincidentally I have always found it weird that so many poor people are always out there because the fair is freaking expensive! And I don't mean that in a bad way at all. Just wonder how some of them afford it for so many days! I can only go about 1 or 2 times max. I drop too much money on fried oreos and corn dogs.

and I am going to close this post with a few random thing that I have noticed lately:
1) The high sock thing is back. If it was ever even in. Why are all these HS boys and freshman college kids wearing skinny jeans, tank tops, and high socks? You look like morons.
2) Everyone in their dog took up cycling. The legit kind of cycling where you have the spandex matching top and shorts with the helmet that matches the bike type of cycling. Edmond streets are FULL of them! day end and day out. Sun or rain, sleet or shine! They are out everywhere. I feel like this is a new thing. But maybe I haven't been paying attention until now cause they are always slowing me down when I wanna speed down Covell Rd.
3) All mainstream songs suck now. Ok, not all. But I feel like besides country most new music is awful! Everything is SOOO dirty or techno sounding or bleeped out of whatever that you can't even find a beat to the song. There are only a handful of the songs on the radio I like and then they get played out so bad that I end up not liking those anymore as well.
4) Lady Gaga is beyond insane. If you saw the music awards or even just a little of it then this needs no explanation.
5) Every 16 year old in Edmond drives a car at least 20x nicer than mine. They would cry and run into their room and never come out if they had to drive mine for just one day. They are too used to their Lexus, Cadillac, and BMWs. Brats.

Bridesmaids comes out to rent next week! Least I am pretty sure it does. Watch it if you haven't seen it!
Excuse the run on sentences and fragments and all that crap. I am not going to re-read this over. Sorry grammar police!
Hasta Luego suckas.
